A Tale of Two Tags

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I had been nominated for my first ever tag/award thingy – two of them, in fact – and I hadn’t done anything about them.

What a travesty.

So I decided, in the fun spirit of my recent birthday (I’m not saying what day it was or how old I am now, but rest easy – I’m still a teenager) that I would do something a little different.

I would fix this unbalance in universal harmony by completing these tag/award thingies.

1. The Food Award

As you can hopefully tell by the picture and the title, I am now going to be talking about food. I am not overly fond of speaking on this topic, so this is probably the first and last time. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Voici les rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you. Thank you, dear Irose!
  2. Pingback to the creator Elisha at https://elishamcfarland.com/
  3. Use the same featured image as your nominator.
  4. Answer the five questions.
  5. Create five questions about food.
  6. Nominate five people. *nervous laugh*

Voici les questions:

Do you like seafood?

A resounding NO. Other than the obvious reason (I can’t stand the taste), I don’t enjoy eating an animal that strongly resembles itself when it was alive. That’s why I also don’t like Thanksgiving turkey.

What is your favorite restaurant?

Olive Garden. But also pretty much any Italian restaurant, because Italian food is a literal gift from God.

Ketchup or mustard?

Hands-down ketchup. Mustard is just…too sour. And bitter. And shiver-inducing.

Have you ever tried food from a different country?

Yes! At least one meal in all twenty I’ve visited. Top on my list of favorites is schnitzel from Austria, a real French baguette, and Vietnamese nem.

Also every meal I ate in Italy.

What is your favorite snack to eat on long car rides?

Kolaches. Or pigs-in-a-blanket. Or whatever you want to call them. Basically short little sausages with cheese baked inside, all wrapped up in a kind of sweet, soft, golden-brown bun. I realize this sounds like a mini-hot dog, but believe me when I say kolaches are ten times tastier.

My questions:

If you could only eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pancakes or waffles?

What’s one food that you want to try?

Why are tomatoes fruits when they don’t go in fruit salads?

What is the most exotic fruit you’ve ever eaten?

And I nominate YOU if:

You want to answer my questions.

You don’t like seafood.

You’ve eaten Italian food in the past week.

You know what a kolache is.

You’re hungry.

(and if you do this, let me know so I can see your answers!)

#2: The Outstanding Blogger Award

This time, I was nominated by the endearing Esther!

Voici les rules:

  1. Provide the link to the creator’s original award post. Link provided here.
  2. Answer the questions provided.
  3. Create 7 unique questions.
  4. Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the award’s creator, nor the blogger that nominated you, can be nominated.
  5. At the end of 2020, every blog that ping-backs the creator’s original post will be entered to win the 2020 Outstanding Blogger Award.

Voici les questions:

How would you describe your dream room?

An air-filled grotto under the ocean, with a cave wall on one side and a glass panel on the other so I can see the colorful fish and coral. There’s a hole of water in the middle of the floor, where I can crawl up into this grotto from the ocean. Little waterfalls trickle down into that hole. Shelves of books line the cave wall, and I have a bed with sheets as silky smooth as water. Always, I can hear the gentle murmur of waves, and sometimes I hear whistling dolphins in the distance.

What’s your dream car?

Um…something that’s clean, and functions properly. I’ve never really been into specific car brands.

Do you want to go to college?

Yes I do!

What are four words that describe your personality?

Oof, this is a tough one. Let’s go with…compassionate, joyful, optimistically dreaming, and pessimistically realistic. The last two are totally not contradictory.

Would you rather live in the country or city?

The country, by far. Sure, there aren’t as many bookshops in the country, but I love being out in nature where it’s quiet and I can see wild animals on a daily basis.

What are three foods that you strongly dislike?

Durian (the stinkiest fruit on Earth – it literally smells like rotting flesh), raw oysters, and animal organs.

If you could dine with one person from history, who would you choose?

Ooh, another hard one. There are so many to choose from…C.S. Lewis, King Solomon, any of the Apostles…but I think I’d pick Jesus. Nothing like dining with the Creator of the Universe.

My questions:

If you could visit any country on Earth, what would it be and why?

If you could visit any fictional land, what would it be and why?

Do you think hedgehogs or baby elephants are cuter?

What does your name mean?

How far back can you trace your ancestry?

What was the last book you read and what did you think of it?

If you could turn into any animal for a day, what would it be and why?

And I nominate YOU if:

You want to answer my questions.

You think you could survive a day as a rabbit.

You’ve smelled a durian.

You’ve read anything by C.S. Lewis.

You like hedgehogs over porcupines.

You’ve been outside your country.

You would love to live by the ocean.

You’ve read more than two books in a day before.

You sleep with more than two pillows.

You’re not this award’s creator or Esther (I have to somewhat follow the rules, right?)

(again, if you’re nominated and do this award, let me know so I can see your answers!)

Well, that was quite an experience. Tell me in the comments if that was at all fun to read, if I nominated you, and what statement got you nominated.

Have a blessed day!
